YEDIS Founder Speaks on AI and Nigeria’s Education System

The Founder and Executive Director of Youths Enterprise Development and Innovation Society, Rafiu Akinpelu Olaore, delivered a keynote presentation at the Faculty of Management Studies Seminar organized by the Osun State Polytechnic on 30 June 2026.

The seminar, held at the institution’s auditorium, brought together academic staff, students, administrators, and stakeholders to examine the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence on teaching, learning, research, and the future of higher education in Nigeria.

Serving in his dual capacity as Guest Speaker and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Olaore emphasized that the successful integration of Artificial Intelligence into education depends largely on the preparedness and empowerment of educators.

> “No educational reform succeeds without empowered educators.

“During his presentation, he urged lecturers, administrators, and educational leaders to proactively develop their digital competencies and become effective users of AI technologies rather than waiting for institutional interventions or policy mandates.

According to him, continuous professional development through certifications, workshops, online learning, and practical experimentation with emerging technologies is essential for educators to remain relevant in an increasingly digital and knowledge-driven economy.

The keynote further explored how Artificial Intelligence is transforming teaching methodologies, research productivity, curriculum development, assessment systems, and graduate employability.

Participants were encouraged to embrace lifelong learning and innovation to prepare students for the future of work. As Founder and Executive Director of YEDIS, Olaore highlighted the organization’s commitment to advancing digital inclusion, entrepreneurship, workforce readiness, and AI literacy among young people and underserved communities across Africa.
