The organisation works to empower young people, particularly women, girls, persons with disabilities, and other marginalised populations with the knowledge, skills, resources, and opportunities needed to participate meaningfully in economic growth, innovation, and community transformation.

Through entrepreneurship development, digital literacy, vocational training, mentorship, and capacity-building initiatives, YEDIS supports young people in building sustainable livelihoods and resilient futures. YEDIS promotes inclusive and locally driven solutions that address unemployment, poverty, educational inequality, food insecurity, and social exclusion. The organisation introduces underserved youth to entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems, strengthens access to practical skills, and supports pathways to decent work, enterprise creation, and economic participation.

Operating primarily in rural and underserved communities, YEDIS responds to challenges associated with inadequate educational access, unemployment, low digital inclusion, gender disparities, and barriers affecting persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. Its programmes are designed to improve social mobility, community resilience, and sustainable development outcomes while fostering peace, dignity, and social inclusion.

Through strategic partnerships and collaborative engagement, YEDIS works with academic institutions, community leaders, civil society organisations, youth networks, trade associations, development partners, and private sector stakeholders to implement impactful initiatives and advocacy campaigns. The organisation also contributes to broader development priorities including climate action, disaster risk reduction, environmental sustainability, food systems transformation, and community health awareness.

YEDIS is committed to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

No Poverty (SDG 1). Zero Hunger (SDG 2). Quality Education (SDG 4). Gender Equality (SDG 5). Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8). Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9).
