Artificial Intelligence (AI) must be guided by critical thinking, responsible leadership, and strategic partnerships to deliver inclusive growth and sustainable development.
During the World Bank Group CSPF 2026 Spring Meetings official session, “Examining How Artificial Intelligence and Digital Agriculture Create Jobs in Developing Countries,” hosted by the Youths Enterprise Development and Innovation Society (YEDIS) and coordinated by Mr. Rafiu Akinpelu Olaore, participants explored how emerging technologies can expand economic opportunities, strengthen agricultural value chains, and empower communities across developing countries.
In this presentation, Mr. Olaore emphasized that while Artificial Intelligence is transforming industries worldwide, its true value lies not in technology alone but in the ability of individuals, institutions, and societies to apply it thoughtfully to solve real-world challenges. He highlighted the importance of critical thinking in evaluating AI-generated information, making informed decisions, and developing innovative solutions tailored to local contexts.
The presentation further underscored the need for strategic partnerships among governments, development organizations, academia, the private sector, civil society, and youth-led initiatives. Such collaborations are essential to ensuring that AI and digital technologies contribute to job creation, agricultural productivity, climate resilience, and inclusive economic growth.
Key Highlights:
AI should complement and enhance human capabilities.
Critical thinking is indispensable for responsible AI adoption.
Digital agriculture presents significant opportunities for youth employment and entrepreneurship.
Strategic partnerships accelerate innovation and sustainable development outcomes.
Inclusive growth requires deliberate efforts to bridge digital, knowledge, and opportunity gaps.
Young people must be empowered as innovators, leaders, and creators of AI-driven solutions.
As YEDIS continues to champion youth empowerment, digital inclusion, and sustainable development, the organization remains committed to fostering dialogue and action on the responsible use of emerging technologies to create opportunities for all.
