YEDIS Executive Director Mr. Rafiu Olaore was honoured as a Panelist on 16th January 2024 at the United Nations informal consultations on the Intergovernmental process for the Declaration on Future Generations as part of the preparatory process of the Summit of the Future. The meeting was co-facilitated by His Excellency Mr. Brian Christopher Manley Wallace, Permanent Representative of Jamaica and Her Excellency Ms. Yoka Brandt, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. 

He made the following recommendations;

  1. Investment in marginalised youth for gainful employment to advance peace and unity.
  2. Promotion of quality education and skills development to grow future generations.
  3. Involvement of marginalised youth representatives in decision-making for inclusive development.
  4. Enhance youth’s entrepreneurial and digital skills to foster prosperity and economic development.
  5. Inclusion of girls and young women in leadership roles.
  6. Support for young women and girls in marginalised communities for gender equality and economic development
  7. Provision of a conducive environment for youth to thrive.
