YEDIS Report on World Bank Group – IMF 2023 Annual Meeting and Civil Society Policy Forum in Morroco.

Youths Enterprise Development and Innovation Society (YEDIS) delegates participated in the World Bank Group – International Monetary Funds annual meeting and Civil Society Policy Forum held in Marrakech, Morocco, from 9 – 15 October 2023. 

The forum united the policymakers, government officials and civil society leaders to deliberate on strategic and innovative solutions to global challenges. The event engaged with inspiring and educative seminars towards global economic growth, finance, health and climate resilience, digitalisation, youth and women entrepreneurship development and adequate measures for gender balance. 

YEDIS delegates Mr Rafiu Akinpelu Olaore and Mr Patrick Adeyemi Ilori attended various transformative sessions and contributed immensely to sustainable development goals, including youth employment, women empowerment, and economic and community development.

  • Rethinking Human Capital Investments for a More Sustainable and Inclusive Future
  • Promoting Equity and Accountability in Pandemic Preparedness: The Role of CSOs in the Pandemic Fund
  • Boosting Growth and Domestic Resources: How to Pay for it All. 
  • Reviving Growth and Shaping Transformations in Emerging Markets and Developing Economy. 
  • The Implications of Private Finance De-risking for Economic Development in the Global South
  • Harnessing the Power of Youth and Adolescents: Advancing Health and Nutrition Through Inclusive Global Partnerships.

The forum expected the participants to network to implement suggested ideas and proffer solutions for inclusive and sustainable development. 

YEDIS delegates gained insightful skills and network opportunities for improved social services. We hope to share the acquired knowledge for humanitarian and community development services to enhance the Nigerian economy.

  • Formal Education will no longer be the main engine of skill workforce development.
