Youths Enterprise Development and Innovation Society (YEDIS) empowered over 250 marginalized young people in Ilase Ijesa, Obokun local government, Osun State, Nigeria, on 23 September 2023.
The workshop included business development training, digital marketing and networking strategies to advance their business. The objectives are to reduce poverty, promote gender equality and sustainable economic development.
YEDIS supported their business by donating hand driers to 10 recently graduated hair stylists and cash (seed funds) to 25 young business owners, comprising fashion designers, shoemakers, farmers, market women, hunters and other sectors.
The King, HRM Alase of Ilase Ijesaland, was represented by His wife, Queen Edith Adesina Ajarabiolu and community chiefs. Eight YEDIS team participated in the event, namely, Chief Ambassador Rafiu Akinpelu Olaore (YEDIS Executive Director), Mr Ola Timothy, Mr Tijani Tajudeen Omotayo, Mrs Adebayo Mary, Miss Fagbemiro Precious, Mrs Waliyat Oyerinde, Mr Waheed Adeoye and Mr Oseni Kehinde. Chief Olaore appreciated the moral and financial support from Mr Patrick Ilori, YEDIS coordinator in Europe towards the successful humanitarian service.
