United Nations Approved YEDIS to host an Off-site Workshop Session of the 2024 UN Civil Society Conference in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Founder of the Youths Enterprise Development and Innovation Society (YEDIS), Amb. Rafiu Akinpelu Olaore’s initiative earned global recognition, as the United Nations (UN) selected his proposal to host a Workshop Session of the UN Civil Society Conference in Nairobi, Kenya, from 9 to 10 May 2024. 

YEDIS CEO and Chief Lecturer at Osun State Polytechnic Iree, will lead an off-site Workshop Session titled ‘Digitalization and Rural Entrepreneurship: The Pathways to Youth Employment, Peace and Prosperity’ at the UN Office in Nairobi, Kenya. 

The United Nations selected Olaore’s proposal on 14 April 2024 and approved for Off Site Events in the margins of the UN Civil Society Conference 2024. According to Cyril, Yugratna, and Eunhee, the UN Co-Chairs of the Civil Society Sessions Sub-Committee, Olaore’s proposal was aligned with the conference’s emphasis on innovation, impact, and inclusivity and would enrich discussions among Member States, civil society, academia, and other stakeholders.  

Ràfiu Olaore’s recognition by the United Nations was due to his dedication and commitment to providing innovative solutions to global social challenges. 

The United Nations organized the conference under the guiding principle of “Shaping a Future of Global and Sustainable Progress.” The UN Co-Chairs stated that the Rafiu Olaore workshop session is expected to deepen the Member States’ collective efforts towards a sustainable and just future and advance major reforms outlined in the Pact for the Future. The UN Civil Society Conference is taking place for the first time in Africa.
