The Youths Enterprise Development & Innovation Society (YEDIS), in collaboration with Joint Minds Club, Iree chapter, Osun State Nigeria, organized an Entrepreneurship and Capacity-Building Seminar for 350 young people on 30th March 2023 between the hours of 10 am to 2 pm in Iree.
The seminar emphasized the effects of climate change on youth employment, the application of digital technology to education and business development, and the discussion about challenges and prospects of self-employment.
At the event, Mrs Modinat Olapade, the Chief Executive Officer of Mediq Rentals Osogbo, Osun State, shared her 31 years of career journey in rental and catering services, including challenges and prospects.
The professional entrepreneurs and program and project coordinators of YEDIS, Mr Ogunrinade Ranti and Mr Ola Timothy, expressed their views on Climate change and digital technology’s impact on youth employment.
Moreover, the YEDIS Executive Director, Mr Rafiu Akinpelu Olaore, reiterated the United Nations’ interest in realizing the SDG 2030 agenda to leave no one behind. He expressed the YEDIS advocacy for quality education, gender equality, and decent jobs for youth.
Lastly, the Joint Minds Club Emperor and members appreciated the YEDIS for an impactful discussion.
