“Digitalization and Rural Entrepreneurship: The Pathways to Youth Employment, Peace and Prosperity,” The YEDIS Workshop Session at the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montreal, Canada.

On 21 September 2024, Rafiu Akinpelu Olaore, the Executive Director of the Youths Enterprise Development and Innovation Society (YEDIS), facilitated a workshop entitled “Digitalization and Rural Entrepreneurship: The Pathways to Youth Employment, Peace, and Prosperity” at the One Young World Summit in Montreal, Canada. The session, attended by delegates from the United States, Canada, Europe, and various African nations, fostered active participation and generated valuable insights.

One Young World selected Rafiu Olaore as a Workshop Facilitator to deliver an engaging and insightful session to 70 delegates worldwide. His selection followed a competitive workshop application process, during which over 400 applications were received by OYW.

This opportunity represents another significant achievement for YEDIS at the global level. In addition to its national accomplishments, such as the 2-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Ogbomoso, Nigeria, and impactful grassroots social services, YEDIS has previously conducted workshops at prominent international events, including the United Nations Conference in Kenya, the World Trade Organization in Switzerland, the World Bank Group/IMF Delegate in Morocco and Washington DC, ECSB in Berlin and Hamburg, Germany, and a United Nations event in New York, thereby further consolidating YEDIS’ global presence.
