This prestigious award was presented by the Honourable Minister of Education of Nigeria, Dr. Tunji Alausa, during a ceremony held at the Abuja Continental Hotel, which was attended by notable dignitaries, including the British High Commissioner to Nigeria and the Country Director of the British Council for Nigeria and the West Africa Cluster.
We sincerely thank the Nigerian federal government for its support, mainly through the TETFund scholarship and the Osun State Polytechnic for facilitating Mr. Rafiu’s studies at the University of Essex in 2011. This opportunity has significantly expanded his global perspective.
Mr. Rafiu stated that the award reinforces his commitment to fostering inclusive growth through impactful entrepreneurial initiatives. His education at the University of Essex has equipped him with a nuanced understanding of entrepreneurial dynamics and has inspired him to explore opportunities beyond localized frameworks.
He greatly appreciated the British Council’s esteemed recognition and dedicated the award to the Youth Enterprise Development and Innovation Society (YEDIS) members.

Mr. Rafiu Akinpelu Olaore is the Founder of the Youths Enterprise Development and Innovation Society (YEDIS), a National Finalist for the British Council Social Action Award 2025, and serves as the African Western and Central Regions Representative at the World Bank Group-IMF CSPF for the term 2024-2026. He is also recognized as a United Nations Accredited Stakeholder.
